wrapping it up..... We would like to send out a huge THANK YOU to all who participated in our gift wrap fundraiser. Our PTA budget hangs in the balance each year depending on the success of our fundraisers. Our total sales for gift wrap this year was more than $15,000. This will release more than $7,500 into our PTA budget. Last year we only had 98 students to participate and this year we had 161 sellers. (over 150 earned Arty Dance Party bracelets- Free admission, Free popcorn and drink) As you can see this was a huge success and we can't thank you enough for your support. Your participation lets us know you recognize the need and appreciate the great works of PTA at Calhoun. Thank you also to the moms who helped count money, enter orders and distribute product. From the Nurse... To keep the flu from spreading, please keep sick children home, especially if your child has a fever of 100 degrees or higher AND a cough or sorthroat. Other symptoms of the flu are: fever, cough or sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body ache, headache, chills, fatigue, diarrhea, vomiting. If your child has a fever of 100 degrees or higher they must stay home until they are fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications (ie: Tylenol or Ibuprofen).

What we're hearing... "The Essential 55 is a great way to help kids become more mature. It shows that you respect yourself and your elders. It also shows that you are a respectful person to others. Not only should you use it when you are young, but it helps you at an older age, too." Todd Hill- Mr. Pearson's Fifth Grade "The Essential 55 is really unique and I love it! It shows things I've never known before. You can even go online and look at some of Ron Clark's videos to learn more about it. Red Ribbon Week October 26-30 Here is our schedule for Red Ribbon Week events:
Students wear crazy socks or mix-matched socks.
Students wear red, white and blue.
Students wear a peace shirt or an article of clothing that displays a peace symbol.
Students wear a sweatshirt, hoodie, or sweatsuit.
